My process is centered on you and your child's needs. I guide you through each step and continue to assist you after placement. My process includes the following:
  1. I meet with you and your child (if appropriate) to learn about the current problems, your goals, difficulties, and what you hope to accomplish through placement.

  2. I then review your child’s school records and testing (psychological and educational), consult with teachers, therapists, psychiatrists and other professionals involved.

  3. I evaluate all this information, then we explore the placement options that make the most sense for your child.

  4. With your input we will develop a placement plan which clearly states your goal and the steps needed to reach that goal.

  5. I will recommend a list of programs based on my assessment.

  6. I will help coordinate the admissions process and logistical arrangements.

  7. Once your child is placed, I will:

    • Conference regularly with the clinical staff at the program to monitor your child’s progress both academically and therapeutically.
    • Be available to you and your child as needed for information, advice and support.
There are times when a family finds themselves in a crisis and it is critical to place a child immediately for the safety and welfare of the child and family. Under these circumstances I am usually able to place a child with 24 hours.
